The Smarter Drop Draw is part of Anglian Water’s Smarter Drop campaign – a community initiative that aims to make Newmarket the water saving capital of the UK. The draw is an exciting experiment in saving water together this summer.
By making a pledge, you are making a commitment to try and reduce your average water consumption. There are lots of ways to use a little less water in everything we do at home – and although a pledge is not legal commitment, all we ask is that you try your best to save what you can, where you can.
Our big goal is for everyone to reduce their current average consumption by 10%, that’s about 15 litres per person, per day. We’ll be sharing tips for saving water at home, with everyone participation in the draw.
To enter the draw, simply fill in your details
here and start saving. We will send a confirmation email to the address you provide and be in touch
with next steps.
There are a number of prizes available to the winners and runners up of the draw.
A £5,000 cash amount will be rewarded to one winner, to start. The cash reward may increase in the months
running up to the final draw.
A £100 cash amount will be rewarded to 10 runners up.
A £25 cash reward will be rewarded to 50 runners up.
We will also be rewarding 100 lucky participants with product giveaways - Anglian Water’s water saving devices
to help you continue to save water at home.
Each participant of the draw is only eligible to win one of the prizes available.
You can participate in the draw if you are:
- 18 years old or above
- An Anglian Water customer
- Live in any of the following postcodes: CB7, CB8, CB25, IP28
Only one entry will be permitted per person. However, each household is entitled to up to two entries, so
long as you meet the criteria outlined in question 1 of the Entry Requirements and Rules section.
The Smarter Drop draw is open for entries on Monday 25th June 2018 at 12:01 BST and closes on Sunday 9th September 2018 16:00 BST. The prize draw will take place on the week commencing 1st October 2018.
To ensure the draw is fair, winners will be selected at random, by an external moderator.
Once the winners have been selected, we will send an email update to inform everyone.
If you are selected as a winner or runner up for any of our cash prizes, we will issue you a cheque and be in contact about the ways for you to claim this. If you are selected as a winner for any of our product giveaways, you may be
required to collect this from our pop-up shop on 97 High Street, Newmarket.
Anglian Water will be responsible for looking after your personal details and will be the only party with
access to this information. We will only use the information you share with us to contact you in relation
to this campaign.
We chose Newmarket for this project in part because it is an area where we can more easily monitor water
usage. We will be monitoring Newmarket’s water consumption, in the same way we normally would, to see how
much we can all save together with the draw, and if we can reach our 10% goal.
There are lots of small and simple things you can do a little differently at home, to save some water. From
all our work with customers in Newmarket, we’ve picked up a few tips. We’ll be sharing these with you via
email throughout the draw. You can also follow our Facebook and twitter pages for regular updates.
If you have a smart meter it is possible for you to actually measure your water use. However we’ve found
from previous work that simply being more aware of the water you are using and taking steps to use less
is enough to make the kind of savings we are aiming to achieve.
